Walkers Mortuary “Chapel of Peace” began in the year of 1988, with the building being dedicated on Sunday, January 03, 1988. We consider this accomplishment to be a milestone as well as a blessing from the almighty God.

University of South Carolina, while working at MUSC he felt the need to once again enroll in school and further his studies, at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Allied Health Science, he completed the program and received a certificate as a Histologic Technic in September 30, 1970.
Mr. Walker’s passion for education never ceased; four years later he enrolled as a student at the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA. In August of 1975 he graduated from Gupton Jones, and his determination for licensure deemed him the title of a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Mr. Walker would be consider an expert Embalmer with excellent skills and exemplified passion to each and every family that walked through his door. His love for community, family, extended friends, far outreach the sands of time. Mr. Christopher “Doone” Walker was a philanthropist in his own way; treating every family as if they were his own, word are simply inadequate to describe an individual with such zeal and zest and unwavering passion.
